The Northern Territory Police Force (NTPF) is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead the successful delivery of the National Firearms Register (NFR) Project as part of the NTPF Digital Transformation Program. This is a high-profile and impactful role supporting government objectives to reduce crime and improve community safety across the NT.

About the Program:

The NTPF Digital Transformation Program drives initiatives that enhance policing and organisational capability. The Program supports a mix of NTPF-delivered projects and cross-agency initiatives—providing strong governance, tracking dependencies and budgets, and ensuring strategic alignment.

About the Role:

As Project Manager, you will:

  • Provide leadership and coordination for the NFR project, ensuring successful delivery in line with program schedules and governance frameworks.
  • Manage project streams across data uplift, registry/portal solutions, legislative and business-process reform, integration and data sharing, and business change.
  • Work closely with a Program Director and collaborate across multiple agencies and stakeholders.
  • Prepare high-quality project documentation, reports, and briefings for governance.
  • Represent NTPF interests at national meetings, workshops, and working groups.
  • Monitor project performance, risks, and emerging issues, escalating for resolution as needed.
  • Support broader Digital Transformation Program initiatives as directed.

Key Requirements:

  • Minimum 5+ years' experience in a policing, law enforcement, justice, or related government project setting.
  • Understanding of (or ability to quickly learn) firearms legislation and national agreements (National Firearms Agreement, Firearms Act 1997 NT, etc).
  • Experience managing ICT-enabled business change and data-uplift projects, particularly in multi-agency environments.
  • Proven ability to operate in structured program management contexts under senior leadership.
  • High-level stakeholder engagement, communication, and relationship-building skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership, business process improvement, and change management success.
  • Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills—able to tailor messages for diverse audiences.
  • Skilled in risk/deliverable management within dynamic, evolving environments.

Desirable:

  • Formal qualifications in relevant discipline (project management, business, ICT, etc).
  • Knowledge of Firearms Act 1997 (NT), National Firearms Register, and related policy issues.
  • Familiarity with government/policing data or case management systems.
