About the role

We are looking for a passionate and dedicated Kitchen Hand or Commis Chef to join our team at Kicho' in Black Rock, VIC. This part-time position is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop their culinary skills and gain experience in a fast-paced, high-quality restaurant environment.

What you'll be doing

  1. Assisting the Head Chef and Sous Chef with food preparation, including chopping, slicing, and portioning ingredients
  2. Maintaining a clean and organised kitchen, ensuring compliance with food safety and hygiene standards
  3. Contributing to the overall efficiency of the kitchen by supporting the team with various tasks as required
  4. Learning new culinary techniques and skills from experienced chefs
  5. Ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction by delivering consistently delicious and visually appealing dishes

What we're looking for

  1. Prior experience in a similar role, either as a Kitchen Hand or Commis Chef, in a fast-paced restaurant or catering environment
  2. A passion for food and a keen interest in the culinary arts
  3. Strong attention to detail and the ability to work efficiently in a team
  4. Good communication and interpersonal skills
  5. A positive attitude and a willingness to learn and grow
