THE POSITION

Reporting to the Head of M&A, you will play a crucial role in driving our investment activities. You will have the opportunity to tailor deal structures to suit a variety of seller profiles including founder operator, corporate carveouts and private equity. The complex nature of our work means you'll be working with a driven, high-energy investment team and senior leaders within our organisation. Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

• Lead and manage deal execution team members, including coordinate with related workstreams and be responsible for project team management.
• Construct and negotiate offers and sale contracts.
• Identify issues that impact purchase price and due diligence.
• Conduct, and provide coaching on, due diligence.
• Compile investment documents, including investment memos and due diligence reports.
• Analyse target company financial/operational information.
• Perform industry research and competitor analysis.
• Build financial models and adjust assumptions based on DD findings.
• Identify new acquisition and business development opportunities.
• Depending on the candidate, the role can be extended to optimising our M&A processes, coaching our operational leaders on acquisition fundamentals and shaping our future M&A strategy.

THE PERSON

You are driven to perform, results-oriented and interested in value investing. You are an enthusiastic and energetic self-starter, have an attention for detail and are willing to work variable hours in an autonomous environment. You are comfortable performing detailed analysis in Excel, then synthesising and communicating your conclusions. You are organised and do not let details slip through the cracks. You are a collaborative individual, who can work well with others across an organisation. You are resourceful and take initiative to put forward suggestions on how to improve the status quo. You are curious and can learn new concepts and ideas with limited direction.

SPECIALISED SKILLS
:

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in transaction diligence, corporate finance/M&A, PE, family office or other role surrounding investment decisions.
• Team player who enjoys and actively drives a high-performance culture.
• Experience being proactive and initiating new ideas in your current/former roles.
• Strong understanding of financial statements and good business judgement.
• Meticulous attention to detail.
• Strong analytical and interpersonal skills.
• Flexible and adaptable with an ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment with firm deadlines.
• Exposure to the software industry and CA/CPA/CFA are beneficial.
