Conveyancing Assistant

About the role

Bedfords Legal is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Conveyancing Assistant to join our dynamic team in Canberra, ACT. This full-time role will support our Conveyancing team in delivering exceptional service to our clients throughout the property settlement process.

The position is office-based, generally Monday - Friday but there is flexibility as to days, hours and full time/part time arrangements.

What you'll be doing

• Preparing and processing conveyancing documentation such as contracts, transfers, and settlements
• Conducting property searches and title investigations
• Liaising with clients, real estate agents, and other stakeholders to ensure a smooth conveyancing experience
• Assisting with electronic file management and record keeping
• Preparation of basic correspondence
• Coordination of settlements through PEXA
• Other tasks suitable to your experience
• Other administrative tasks as required
• Providing administrative support to the Conveyancing team as needed

What we're looking for

• At least 1-2 years of experience in a conveyancing or legal assistant role
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to work accurately under pressure
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Proficiency in using conveyancing software and Microsoft Office applications

• Experience with PEXA electronic settlement platform (training provided for the right candidate)

• A proven track record of working effectively in a team environment

• Eligibility to work in Australia (Australian citizenship, permanent residency, or valid work visa)
