About the Role

As our Education Engagement and Inclusion Officer, you will play a key role in strengthening Autism NT's presence and impact within schools across the Northern Territory. Working part-time, this role focuses on building strong, collaborative relationships with schools, students, and families to promote autism awareness, inclusion, and practical support strategies

Your key responsibilities

  • Build strong relationships with schools and school communities across the NT to strengthen Autism NT's presence and impact
  • Act as a key liaison between Autism NT and families, supporting understanding of autism and connection to services and supports
  • Promote and coordinate Autism NT programs, resources, and awareness activities within school settings
  • Represent Autism NT at school and community events, information sessions, and transition activities (during school hours where possible)
  • Track engagement activity and provide clear updates and insights to support continuous improvement and reporting

About you

  • You have experience working in education, community services, or disability services, and understand how to support autistic students and their families
  • You bring strong knowledge of local disability and community support services (or the ability to quickly build this knowledge)
  • You're a confident, respectful communicator with the ability to advocate for families and build trust with students, parents, and community stakeholders
  • You can work independently and flexibly, managing your time effectively within a part-time, predominantly school-hours role
  • You are committed to neurodiversity, inclusion, and strengths-based practice, and approach your work with empathy and professionalism

Location: Palmerston, NT Employment Status: Part-Time (12-month contract)
