Requirements:

  • Understanding & commitment to the principles of duty of care, and rights to privacy and confidentiality.
  • Outgoing personality & fluent English.
  • Punctuality & Flexible availability.
  • Comfortable using your own vehicle for transportation services (travel allowances available).
  • Knowledge & experience supporting participants with disability or mental health.

Responsibilities:

As a Disability Support Worker at Care Heroes, you will be responsible for delivering various support services, including:

  • Meal preparation and assisting with eating & drinking.
  • Enabling mobility, including moving & handling transfers, hoists, and wheelchairs.
  • Social Support & transportation.
  • Respite Care.
  • Supporting and respecting participants' routines.
  • Reporting & recording as per company's procedure at all times.
  • Adhering to company's policies & procedures.
  • Supporting participants to make decisions & have choices.
  • Supporting participants to achieve their goals.

Minimum Requirements:

  • NDIS workers screening check.
  • Fluent English.
  • Current Police Check & Working with Children Check.
  • QLD Driver's Licence.
  • Manual handling experience.
  • Own Vehicle & Comprehensive Insurance.
  • Current First Aid, CPR.
  • Certificate III/IV in individual support or Certificate III in disability.
  • Minimum 1 year experience supporting clients in a home or community care setting.
  • Citizenship / Working Rights.
