Technical Trainer – Water Treatment

The Role
They are seeking a passionate and experienced Technical Trainer to join their team. They are open to this new hire, to be based in any major city across Australia. This role is essential in developing and delivering technical training programs, assessing participant competency, and ensuring operational teams are equipped with the knowledge and skills to maintain advanced water treatment systems. You'll work closely with engineers, operators, and internal teams in a dynamic environment where communication and technical expertise are key.
Key Responsibilities
• Design and deliver technical training sessions for staff and clients
• Conduct on-the-job training and coaching for employees and clients
• Assess competency and provide constructive feedback
• Collaborate with managers to identify training needs, create tailored programs, and maintain accurate training records
• Develop and update training materials and resources
• Ensure all training content reflects the latest plant technologies, safety standards, and compliance requirements
• Measure training effectiveness through KPIs and feedback, driving continuous improvement
• Foster a strong safety, quality, and compliance culture across all learning initiatives
• Ensure training programs align with industry standards and safety regulations
• Support continuous improvement of training delivery and learning outcomes
• Collaborate with engineering, operations, and HSE teams
About You
• "Train the Trainer" Certification – Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40110 or TAE40116) – essential
• Trade qualification or relevant Water industry qualification - highly desirable
• Proven experience in technical training delivery, ideally in water treatment or wastewater treatment or similar
• Knowledge of desalination, industrial water treatment, and membrane technology, highly desirable.
• Ability to work autonomously and take initiative
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
• Highly organised, with the ability to manage multiple training programs simultaneously
• Willingness to travel for site-based training across Australia
