Your new career:
The role of the Finance Manager is to manage the financial service function of the partnership by taking responsibility for a number of advanced tasks centred around accounting and tax compliance while continuing to improve the accounting function.
Including:
- Statutory reporting, including partnership, trust, corporate, and audit of AFSL licensee companies;
- Tax compliance including income tax returns for partnership, service trust, and related corporate entities incorporating PAYG withholding / instalments, BAS/IAS, FBT, income tax returns, payroll tax, stamp duty, STP reporting;
- Preparation of monthly management accounts, including regular analytical review, comparison to budget ;
- Day to day management of the finance team and overall finance function of the firm
- Cashflow management, reporting and analysis;
- Maintenance of the fixed asset register;
- Monitoring / management of bank debt position, including monitoring / reporting annual covenants
- Management of year end processes including working with General Manager and Finance Partner on reporting, budgeting, equity and partnership matters;
- Annual stamp duty reporting to the Queensland Revenue Office on changes in equity of the partnership including assisting in preparation of schedule to support the independent valuation;
- Reconciliation of partnership equity accounts including maintenance of capital / current accounts reconciliation;
- Manage ASIC compliance for associated entities;
- Management of the administration and claims process requirements for the firm insurances;
- Ad-hoc reporting as required
- Review, and development of general financial and KPI reporting for the firm;
- Reporting to General Manager and Finance Partner.
You will also be working closely with the other members of the practice management team.
What you will bring:
We are seeking a motivated individual to work with our wide range of internal clients.
To be successful in this role your qualities, skills and knowledge will include:
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in a similar role preferably within a professional services firm
- Experience with utilising an integrated professional practice system (ERP), preferably MYOB Advanced or similar;
- Experience with Partnership / trust / AFSL / corporate accounting will be highly preferred
- Accounting qualification or similar
- Solid understanding of Australian tax and compliance reporting
- Strong problem solving, analytical and systems skills with an ease of adaption between systems and reporting
- Good leadership skills – small team where working well together is critical
