YOUR ROLE
The Learning Partner, Student Behaviour Supportwill work alongside other team members in a multidisciplinary, integrated model of service delivery. This role is designed to support the Student Engagement Unit across a range of strategies and initiatives that enhance educational delivery within calm and safe classrooms. This role would suit someone with extensive experience in teaching in schools or other relevant settings particularly with students with diverse regulation and learning needs.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Consultation with schools to support the inclusion of students with regulation, behavioural and/or social/emotional needs
- Administration and interpretation of relevant assessments to assist in implementation of evidence-based adjustments for referred students
- Review, document and facilitate the implementation of evidence-based behaviour management plans and approaches designed to be implemented by teachers to support the inclusion of students with behaviour, regulation and social/emotional needs
- Build the capability of school leaders to utilise MACS policies and guidelines (e.g. Intervention Framework, Positive Behaviour Guidelines) to accurately identify, assess and monitor students who may require adjustments
- Provide evidence-based consultancy services to program support groups (PSG) to ensure that the teachers and school staff are supported in meeting the needs of students with diverse presentation
- Support teachers and schools with the intervention process (identification, targeted assessment, data analysis, learning and teaching and evaluation) and relevant documentation (Behaviour Support Plan, Student Safety Plan)
ABOUT YOU
- A comprehensive understanding and ability to apply current best practice in assessment and management of students with diverse regulation and behavioural needs within an educational setting
- Demonstrated understanding of contemporary, evidence-based teaching and learning approaches and behaviour systems including but not limited to the impact of trauma and Autism
- Demonstrated ability to provide consultancy support to teachers and school leaders to inform the provision of appropriate adjustments to achieve the inclusion of students with regulation and engagement challenges and/or diverse learning needs
- Demonstrated understanding of state and national policies and curriculum in relation to inclusive teaching practices including, multi-tiered systems of support (MTSS), NCCD, Response to Intervention (RtI), universal design for learning (UDL) to support the health, wellbeing, academic and/or behavioural needs of students.
- Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills with ability to establish and maintain strong working relationships with key stakeholders
- Demonstrated ICT skills to organise workload, develop, produce and deliver presentations and resources
Salary range for this position is $79,589 (T2/1) - $118,063 (T2/6) per annum exclusive of superannuation as specified in the Catholic Education Multi-Enterprise Agreement 2022 and may include additional allowances dependent on qualifications and experience. The role is eligible for school holidays.
