• $94,582 - $113,291 base + 16.5% Super + a fortnightly Rostered Day Off (RDO)
• Permanent Full-time role | Working Hours: 6:30am – 3:00pm
• Based at our Oatley Depot

Reporting to the Field Supervisor, the Protection Technician will oversee the maintenance and commissioning of protection, automation & control equipment within distribution, zone and sub-transmission substations and networks. This role is crucial in ensuring the safety, reliability, sustainability, and cost-effectiveness of our services for customers and the integrity of our network assets.

To be successful, you must have:

• Qualification in a relevant electrical trade (Cert III Electrotechnology or equivalent).
• A Class C drivers' licence.
• A WH&S Work Cover – General Induction.
• Experience in analysing electrical drawings (schematic diagrams is desirable).
• Sound computer skills for both office-based & industry-specific programs for testing, commissioning & interrogation of network assets.

Skills & Qualifications (Not essential but advantageous):

• Experience in fault finding & problem solving.
• Knowledge of industrial electrical systems, including control systems, instrumentation and automation equipment. (PLC, instrumentation, SCADA or other operating systems).
• Cert III, Cert IV, Diploma or Advanced Diploma in relevant discipline (Power Systems, Industrial Electronics, Instrumentation etc).
• Proven experience in HV (High Voltage) Switching.
• Experience with Permit to Work systems.
• Demonstrated experience with a computerised maintenance management system.
