Advanced Practitioner

Community Correctional Services (CCS) is a state-wide service that manages individuals on court orders, people who commit serious sex offences on post sentence supervision and people on parole. Evidence suggests that those who re-integrate into the community following a period of imprisonment require transitional support in order to reduce their risk of reoffending.

CCS is seeking a dynamic Advanced Practitioner/Court Assessment and Prosecutions (CAPS) Supervisor to join the team. This hybrid role offers the opportunity to lead and mentor staff across case management and CAPS streams, strengthening their capacity to deliver high-quality services to stakeholders in the sentencing process.

You will also manage a diverse caseload of complex and high-risk individuals-conducting risk assessments, developing case plans, delivering targeted interventions, and supporting compliance with court orders. This role is pivotal in helping service users successfully complete their orders while safeguarding community safety. You will also play a key role in delivering an integrated through-care approach, supporting individuals as they transition from prison to community-based orders, in collaboration with internal and external service providers.

What we're looking for in Advanced Practitioners

Our ideal candidate will demonstrate exceptional client engagement and case management skills including sound interviewing skills and establishment of goals and objectives with complex individuals.

In addition, the successful candidate will possess:

• excellent verbal communication skills and confidence in dealing with people exhibiting challenging behaviours
• an ability to lead and mentor staff to achieve their best
• strong stakeholder management and relationship-building skills
• excellent time management and organisation skills with the ability to balance competing priorities
• an understanding of court processes and sentencing principles is desirable.
