The Salvation Army Australia’s Family Violence Stream provides a wide range of services around the country to support women and women with children impacted by family and domestic violence. We offer refuge, children’s and parenting services, counselling, support, men’s programs, accommodation and advice to women and children who are experiencing, or who have experienced, family violence.

We are currently seeking a values-driven and proactive Specialist Family Violence Practitioner to

provide outreach case management support to women and women with children who have experienced and/ or are currently experiencing family violence, within the Gold Coast region. This role will be in instrumental in delivering high quality, safe and effective family violence and child well-being responses to those seeking support, safety, and recovery.

You will successfully
- Establish effective relationships with clients that encourage self-determination and participation and uphold the principles of the National Family Violence Model of Care
- Provide case management support to clients in accordance with TSA case management models and standards of practice
- Carry out ongoing assessment of the client’s issues, needs and circumstances from initial intake to exit
- Develop individual case plans in collaboration with clients and include a range of interventions that address the needs or goals of clients
- Ensure implemented case plans are actively led by the participant
- Assist clients to access holistic support services and establish community connections, and where needed assist through advocacy with service providers
- Establish effective relationships with key stakeholders

You will have
- A tertiary qualification in Social Work is essential
- Experience working in the family violence sector is desirable
- Experience in specialist family violence and/ or child wellbeing work is highly desirable
- Demonstrated case management experience and skills
- Highly developed time management and work prioritisation skills with an ability to work autonomously with mínimal supervision required
- Advance computer skills including experience in data and record management- Relevant child protection requirements are obtained for example Working with children check
- A willingness to undergo a National Police Check
