About the role

Mungedar Farms is a 7,500ha broad acre cropping business, and are seeking an experienced Spray Operator to join our team in Badgingarra, Western Australia.

As a Spray Operator, you will work closely with the farm manager as you will play a crucial role in maintaining the crop health and productivity of the spraying operations. This is a full-time position, offering competitive remuneration and the opportunity to be part of a dynamic, growing agribusiness. This position would ideally suit someone who is passionate about broad acre farming with an eye for detail and a can-do attitude.

What you'll be doing

  • Operate, calibrate and maintain spraying equipment such as a 616 John Deere SP Boom Sprayto apply herbicides, pesticides, and other chemicals to crops and farmland to ensure accurate and efficient application
  • Closely monitor weather conditions and adjust application rates and techniques accordingly
  • Maintain detailed records of all spraying activities, including the type and quantity of chemicals used
  • Have a strong understanding of all safe chemical handling procedures
  • Communicate effectively with the farm manager
  • Assist with other general farm duties as required

What we're looking for

  • Minimum 2 years' experience as a Spray Operator or similar role in a commercial farming or agricultural setting
  • Demonstrated proficiency in the safe and effective use of spraying equipment and chemicals
  • Experience operating self-propelled spraying equipment is essential
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to following OH&S safe work procedures
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Current driver's licence and willingness to obtain relevant licences and certifications
  • Must possess or be willing to obtain recognised chemical application certification
  • Knowledge of relevant agricultural regulations and best practices
  • Australian citizenship is required for this position
