Job Description:

We're seeking a visionary retail leader to oversee and grow W Cosmetics Corporation's national retail footprint across a diverse multi-brand portfolio. This includes our premium Korean, Japanese and Chinese beauty lines, as well as our expanding food and beverage concepts such as Kumo Kumo and A3 Coffee & Tea.

As Head of Retail, you will drive operational excellence and commercial growth, working closely with culturally diverse teams, international brand partners, and cross-border suppliers. The ideal candidate will bring bilingual skills, a strong grasp of the Australian consumer market and deep knowledge of Asian retail standards to deliver world-class retail execution and customer experiences.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the execution of national retail strategy across beauty and F&B channels.

• Deliver annual sales, wage, and operational budgets in partnership with Finance, driving monthly reforecasts to achieve or exceed targets.

• Identify margin optimisation opportunities while maintaining disciplined expense management.

• Support the COO with business case preparation for new initiatives and regional rollouts.

• Lead Regional Managers to ensure consistent store execution, operational excellence, and compliance.

• Implement retail operating procedures, training frameworks, and service standards across the network.

• Review and optimise daily operations including inventory control, staff scheduling, and customer service.

• Oversee internal communications to ensure frontline alignment on key initiatives.

• Manage the end-to-end setup of new stores, including staffing, training, and operational readiness.

• Partner with property consultants and builders to deliver seamless, on-time, on-budget store launches that reflect brand standards.

• Build and lead a high-performing, values-led retail leadership team across all regions.

• Drive engagement, capability development, and succession planning for retail staff.

• Oversee incentive structures and recognition programs that align with business objectives.

• Lead the development of retail performance dashboards, providing actionable insights on sales trends, customer metrics, and operational bottlenecks, and contribute to executive and board reporting.

The ideal candidates will have:

• Proven experience leading national or multi-region retail operations (preferably in cosmetics, luxury, or FMCG sectors)

• Strong financial skills including budgeting, labour management, and expense tracking

• Hands-on experience with store operations, SOP implementation and compliance

• Familiarity with food & beverage retail operations is an advantage

• Proficiency in POS systems, workforce management and data analytics tools

• Fluency in English and proficiency in an additional Asian language is strongly preferred due to supplier and partner interactions

• Demonstrated ability to work effectively across cultures and with international stakeholders

• High level of interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills

• Cultural literacy and emotional intelligence when managing diverse retail teams
