A highly regarded investment management business is seeking a
Senior Risk Manager
to join their Legal, Governance, and Risk team. This newly created role offers the opportunity to take ownership of the operational risk function in a growing, complex organisation with multiple business lines.

The Opportunity

You'll work closely with senior leadership to shape and embed a risk management framework that protects the business, supports decision-making, and meets regulatory expectations. The role offers a high level of autonomy, significant exposure to senior stakeholders, and the ability to influence operational and strategic outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and embed a fit-for-purpose Operational Risk Management Framework.
  • Maintain oversight of operational risks, risk registers, and controls across the organisation.
  • Conduct operational risk reviews, stress testing, and scenario analysis.
  • Partner with teams to ensure compliance with licensing obligations, regulatory requirements, and internal policies.
  • Lead the operational risk aspects of internal and external audits.
  • Prepare risk reports, board papers, and committee materials.
  • Investigate incidents, ensure remediation, and manage regulatory reporting.
  • Build and maintain a strong risk culture through training and engagement.
  • Oversee business continuity, disaster recovery, and data protection controls.

About You

  • Experience in operational risk or compliance within funds and asset management is imperative.
  • Strong knowledge of regulatory obligations and risk management practices.
  • Proven track record designing and embedding operational risk frameworks.
  • Commercial mindset with the ability to provide pragmatic, solutions-focused advice.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to influence at all levels.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication abilities.
