About The Role
The Student Support Services Branch is an Area based multi disciplinary health, wellbeing, and inclusion team which comprises Psychologists, occupational therapists, behaviour analysts, speech pathologists and social workers.

in supporting schools to address the barriers to learning that impact on student(s) progress to achieving their educational goals and development potential.

Attributes
Psychologist:
A skilled and student-focused professional who applies expertise in educational and developmental psychology to improve student wellbeing and learning outcomes. Brings a deep understanding of disability inclusion and evidence based interventions, along with strong consultation and collaboration skills when working with schools, families and multidisciplinary teams. Demonstrates initiative, flexibility and critical incident response capability in fast paced environments, supported by excellent planning, organisation and a commitment to positive student outcomes.
Speech Pathologist:
A passionate allied health professional with specialist skills in communication, speech and language development, using practical, evidence based interventions to support student learning and participation. Works collaboratively with schools, families and multidisciplinary colleagues, building capability and promoting inclusive education. Demonstrates professional judgement, cultural awareness and the ability to manage complex needs while maintaining strong relationships and a commitment to student success and equitable learning opportunities.
Social Worker:
A values driven practitioner with strong expertise in student wellbeing, social support and early intervention, focused on reducing disadvantage and supporting vulnerable students. Brings exceptional communication and stakeholder engagement skills, building trusted partnerships across schools, agencies and community networks. Provides specialist guidance, advocacy and practical support, making a meaningful impact on student engagement, safety and educational outcomes across the region.

Desirable Qualifications And Experience
Psychologist
: A graduate or post-graduate qualification in psychology; full Registration as a Psychologist with the Australian Health Practitioners Registration Agency (AHPRA).
Speech Pathologist:
A graduate or post-graduate degree in speech pathology. Eligibility for membership of Speech Pathology Australia
Social Worker
: A graduate or post-graduate degree in social work or equivalent; eligibility for membership of the Australia Association of Social Workers

About The Department
The department provides a wide range of learning and development support and services.
The department provides policy leadership, plans for the future of education in Victoria and leads key cross-sector collaboration. The department plays an important system steward role by providing support, guidance, oversight and assurance across early childhood and school education systems, as well as directly providing school education and 50 new early learning centres.
About The Division
Schools and Regional Services comprises 17 Areas across four regions and five central divisions. Within this structure, Student Support Services (SSS) bring together allied health professionals including psychologists, speech pathologists, social workers, occupational therapists and behaviour analysts to support the learning, health and wellbeing of children and young people.
SSS play a vital role in reducing barriers to learning and improving educational outcomes, particularly for vulnerable students. Working as part of area based multidisciplinary teams, SSS partner with schools to deliver consultation, assessment, intervention and capability building through a multi-tiered system of support at individual, group, school and network levels.
You will use your professional expertise to make a meaningful difference for students, families and school communities while working alongside a collaborative and supportive team committed to equity, inclusion and student success.
