This hands-on role combines coaching, problem-solving, and advocacy — helping people develop skills, build confidence, and connect with real opportunities in their community.
Mentors work flexibly, both one-on-one and in small groups, to support each person in identifying their strengths, developing work readiness skills, and creating pathways to meaningful, sustainable employment or microenterprise.

- Provide on-the-job coaching where needed, helping people settle into and succeed in their chosen roles.
Community and Employer Engagement
- Build and maintain strong relationships with local employers, community organisations, and training providers.
- Promote inclusive employment practices and help employers understand how to support a diverse workforce.
- Conduct workplace assessments, recommend job design adjustments, and identify reasonable accommodations or assistive technologies.
Program Delivery and Reporting
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date records, reports, and progress notes in line with organisational policies.
- Communicate regularly with the Operations Manager and team to share updates, risks, and success stories.
- Contribute to continuous improvement by sharing ideas and feedback from on-the-ground experience.
Team Collaboration and Professionalism
- Work collaboratively within a supportive team environment that values transparency, respect, and flexibility.
- Attend team meetings, supervision sessions, and training as required.
- Demonstrate professionalism, reliability, and integrity in all interactions with clients, families, employers, and colleagues.
