Get to know the Role:

Border Express currently has an exciting opportunity available for an experienced and motivated Forklift Operator to join the team at our Darwin Branch.

This position plays an integral part in the safe, efficient and effective movement of freight to achieve the delivery promise that we have made to our customers.

This is a Casual position, potentially moving to a permanent role for the right candidate.

Schedule: Monday - Friday; 5am - 1pm, with overtime on offer when available.

Duties:

  • Plan and monitor all freight movements for effective utilisation in order to meet the operations time schedule, ensuring DIFOT targets for our customers are met;
  • Adhere to all relevant laws and legislation including paperwork, load restraint guidelines and DG codes;
  • Undertake safe and effective loading, unloading and movement of freight in accordance with company & statutory guidelines;
  • Loading/unloading of vehicles;
  • Breaking down pallets of parcels.

Skills and Experience:

  • Previous experience in the Transport industry preferred;
  • Great local knowledge of Darwin and surrounding areas;
  • Ability to work unsupervised;
  • A current LF licence is essential for this position, with experience in Loading/Unloading vehicles;
  • Safe manual handling practices with the ability to lift and stack cartons when required;
  • A current MR or HR licence would be beneficial, but not essential.
  • Valid work visa or Australian work rights accepted;
  • Minimum 2+ years of forklift operating experience required.
