The Funding and Disclosure Reform Program was established to enable the Australian Electoral Commission (AEC) to implement and administer legislative amendments to the Commonwealth Funding and Disclosure Scheme (the Scheme) as set out in Part XX of the Commonwealth Electoral Act 1918 (Electoral Act) to increase transparency and accountability in Australia's electoral system.

The Program is made up of three branches – the Program Management Office Branch, the Regulatory Enablement Branch, and the Technology Delivery Branch – that will work together to uplift the AEC's regulatory capability by designing, building and implementing new processes, resourcing, tools, systems and technology to successfully administer the Scheme.

The Senior Data Analyst works within a multidisciplinary data team to collect, analyse, and interpret data that informs product design, development, and delivery. This role supports the team by providing actionable insights, ensuring data quality, and enabling evidence-based decision-making throughout the software development lifecycle.

  • Develop and maintain automated reports and dashboards to monitor key metrics.
  • Design, plan, and manage data migrations, including risk assessment, mapping, testing, and documentation to ensure successful transfer of data between systems.
  • Provide subject matter expertise, helping to design and build new systems to perform analytics and detection of non-compliance in a regulatory context.
  • Support workflow automation and troubleshoot data-related integration issues.
  • Provide strategic recommendations and support process improvements based on data analysis.
  • Perform additional duties or assume responsibility of functions as directed from time to time.
