As the Senior Financial Accountant, you will work as part of a high-performing finance team to build up and improve processes, take the lead on all technical accounting matters, and work with an array of high-calibre stakeholders across the business.

About the opportunity:

As the Senior Financial Accountant, you will be responsible for managing financial reporting, compliance, and the audit process whilst collaborating with the business when it comes to budgeting & forecasting. Your main responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

  • Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring compliance with ASX regulations and Australian Accounting Standards.
  • Oversee and manage the month-end and year-end close processes, including consolidation of financial results and preparation of corporate monthly journals.
  • Conduct balance sheet reconciliations, focusing on technical accounting issues
  • Prepare the budget and forecast and analyse monthly performance
  • Act as the primary point of contact for auditors, coordinating and overseeing the audit process
  • Provide technical accounting support, identifying and addressing complex accounting issues
  • Lead or assist with ad-hoc financial projects and process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

About you:

  • CA/CPA qualified or equivalent
  • Suitable for either a Big 4 or Mid-tier 1st or 2nd mover
  • 4 to 7 years' experience in accounting / audit roles
  • Strong technical and financial acumen and a solid grasp of IFRS
  • Experience auditing or working within an ASX-listed business would be advantageous
  • Experience in a retail business would be advantageous but not essential
  • First-rate communication skills and ability to business partner with stakeholders outside of finance
  • Committed to long-term progression and career growth, as this role will likely expand over time in responsibilities
