Join Our Passionate Nursing Team at MSWA Make a Difference in Neurological Care

At MSWA, we're not just a healthcare provider—we're a dedicated community of professionals committed to empowering individuals living with neurological conditions such as MS, Parkinson's, Huntington's, Motor Neurone Disease, Acquired Brain Injury, and Stroke.

Why MSWA?

Here, you'll be at the forefront of compassionate care, making a meaningful impact in the lives of our Clients and their families. You'll manage a diverse caseload of clients, both in their homes and within the broader community, tailoring your support to each unique story and journey.

A Day in Your Life as a Senior Neurological Liaison Nurse:

  • Conduct nursing assessments and develop personalised care plans.
  • Provide essential nursing services, including continence management, wound care, and palliative support.
  • Provide assessment, advisory, educational and support services to people with neurological conditions and their families and/or carers.
  • Co-ordinate and delegate internal nursing referrals, assessing workload and commitments of each MSWA Neurological Liaison Nurse.
  • Enjoy a mix of office-based work and community travel, where your expertise will be needed across the region—from Mandurah in the south to Ellenbrook in the north. While we strive to keep you close to home, being open to travelling further afield is essential to provide the support our clients need.

The Opportunity:

We're offering a fixed-term (12-months) part-time position for a Senior Neurological Liaison Nurse, consisting of 67.5 hours per fortnight.

Your primary base will be at our Wilson service centre, but you'll play a crucial role in the community. To facilitate your travel, we provide pool cars, or you can use your own vehicle—travel expenses will be reimbursed.

What We're Looking For:

  • Strong time management and prioritisation skills to handle a varied caseload.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • A minimum of 2 years of nursing experience.

Compliance Essentials:

  • Current registration with the Nurses Board of Western Australia (as an RN).
  • Current First Aid and CPR certification.
  • NDIS Worker Screening Check (or willingness to obtain).
  • Full C Class driving licence without restrictions.
  • Working with children check.

Desirable Experience:

  • Experience in community nursing.
  • Familiarity with neurological conditions and rehabilitation nursing.
  • Knowledge of Disability Services Legislation and the National Disability Insurance Scheme.
  • Background in palliative care, continence management, and wound care.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, alongside computer literacy.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and a commitment to quality improvement.

And the benefits?

As a not-for-profit organisation we are fortunate to be able to offer generous salary packaging options to all our employees. Currently up to $18,500 can be packaged to cover things like living expenses, mortgage payments, or car leasing – this means you pay less tax on your income

We also offer generous leave policies, discounts on major retailers and an opportunity to do (what we think is) challenging and rewarding work every day. But above all you will be a part of our purpose at MSWA to empower Western Australians living with neurological conditions to live their best life.
