Working within our SIL (Supported Independent Living) homes in Tewantin, you will provide support, assisting people with disabilities to live as independently as possible, whether they have complex needs or just need some additional support at home. No two days will be the same - you may hear that phrase a lot but here at Endeavour Foundation, you will see it in action

Other key duties will include:

• Helping people to achieve their NDIS goals by developing important daily skills such as housekeeping, personal care, social skills and budgeting.
• Assisting with aspects of personal care where required to meet the individual needs of the people we support.
• Supporting with meal planning, cooking, light cleaning and facilitating community connection by socialising and going on outings.
• Providing support during daily activities such as going for a walk, going to the movies or accompanying to an appointment.
• Helping the people we support to maintain a connection to their family, friends, and services.

Availability

To be considered for this position, you must have flexible availability to work mornings, afternoons, and overnight shifts. 

Our Ideal Candidate

You're an experienced and caring support worker who is confident providing full personal care, including showering, 2-person transfers, and supporting people who use wheelchairs. You're comfortable with the physical aspects of the role, including bending, squatting, and safe manual handling.

You have a natural ability to build strong relationships with the people you support, their families, and other stakeholders. You understand the importance of working alongside family advocates to deliver consistent and respectful support.

You have experience supporting people with mental health needs, physical disabilities, and intellectual disabilities, and you approach each person with empathy, patience, and a commitment to person-centred care.

We also require:

• A Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability) is advantageous.
• Flexibility to work a variety of shifts including multiple sleepovers per week.
• Good computer skills and experience using Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Hold or be willing to obtain a Working with Children Check (Blue Card), NDIS Worker Screening Check (Yellow Card), First Aid, CPR, National Criminal History Check (Fit2Work), and an open Drivers License with comprehensive insurance on your vehicle.
