As Indigenous Affairs Lead- QLD, you will be a highly trusted strategic leader and cultural advisor, building meaningful relationships across Sodexo Australia's people, clients, and communities.
Reporting to the Director, Indigenous Affairs, you will:
- Lead, mentor, and empower a talented Indigenous Affairs team across multiple portfolios.
- Work closely with operations management understanding client service deliverables, reporting and monitoring performance outcomes.
- Foster genuine engagement with Traditional Owners, Custodians, and community organisations to ensure their voices are reflected in our work.
- Collaborate across Operations, Talent Acquisition, HR, Business Development, and Supply Chain to drive Indigenous employment, procurement, and community informed outcomes.
- Provide cultural and strategic advice to support business development and operational excellence through effective team deliverables.
- Participate in Sodexo Australia's Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) Working Group as a valuable contributor aligned to the Indigenous Affairs strategy and measurable social impact.
This newly created leadership role requires both strategic capability and hands-on collaboration. Build an environment that will bring real opportunities to influence meaningful change while guiding others to do the same.
What You'll Bring
You're a natural connector and respected leader who thrives in diverse, cross-functional environments. You'll bring:
- Extensive experience in Indigenous Affairs, community engagement, or a related leadership role — ideally within corporate, energy, or resources sectors.
- Strong understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures, protocols, and community engagement practices, underpinned by lived experience.
- Demonstrated success leading and developing Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander teams.
- Proven ability to translate client services deliverables into tangible outcomes through innovative and effective programs, partnerships, and business initiatives.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage confidently across all levels of the business and community.
- Exposure to Reconciliation Action Plans and establishment or participation in employee reference groups.
- Tertiary qualifications in Indigenous Studies, Social Sciences, Business Management, or demonstrated career experience in similar roles.
