The Company

For the last 30+ years, our client has manufactured purpose built pumping systems designed to their client's requirements and specifications with a proven reputation of quality, reliability and service, supplying to a wide range of client's in the Mining, Oil & Gas, Construction, Heavy Industry and Utilities industries.

Due to a large project our client has secured, they are seeking additional Electrical Trades Assistants to assist in the manufacture / build of Switchboards used in their specialized equipment as well as assisting Grade A Electricians carry out build and testing tasks. The work can either be project based or potentially Temp to Perm.

Working Days, Hours, Location & Duration

  • Working Days: Monday to Friday
  • Working Hours: 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM
  • Overtime: Some Overtime required from time to time
  • Location: Canning Vale
  • Duration: Work up to Christmas with strong likelihood of continuing into 2026. Possibility of Temp to Perm

The Role

The work tasks will cover all facets of switchboard / control panel manufacturing from fitting back pans and cable ladders through to fitting electronic components and terminating them. There are also tasks in assisting Grade A Electricians across Pump set build and Testing.

The main tasks of the work include fitting, wiring and terminating component of switchboards / control panels which include;

  • Mounting Enclosures & components
  • Busbars, Multistage Busbars & Threaded Busbars
  • Cable Ladders & Trays
  • Pushbuttons, Switches & Pilot Lights
  • Distribution, Terminal & Control Blocks
  • Enclosure cooling components
  • Electrical Protection – surge protection devices, circuit breakers fuse & safety switches
  • Programmable Controllers – PLC's or PAC's
  • Relays
  • Transformers
  • VSD & Soft Starters
  • Motor Control components
  • Computer circuit boards
  • SCADA or HMI components

Most of the tasks will require candidates to be experienced in the manufacture of Switchboards / Control Panels where you will be either working off;

  • Electrical Line Drawings
  • Electrical Panel Layouts

Each job comes with a "job order" that provides detailed information of the job, such as the equipment it will be fitted too, the priority of the job and an electrical diagram (line or panel layout) of the switchboards

Each team member generally takes responsibility of one switchboard or major component of a panel array at a time.

You also be assisting Grade A Electricians in their day to day activities across Pump build and testing where you will be supervised by qualified Electricians.

About the Candidate

As the switchboards / control panels have various build stages as well as our clients is requiring Electrical TA's that may focus on assisting Electricians in build or testing duties, we require a variety of candidates that possess varying levels of experience, technical expertise and qualifications which includes;

  • Trades Assistants – Electrical
  • Overseas Electricians without Grade A License (Hours can be signed off toward securing Grade A Electrical License for international candidates)
  • Restricted Electrical License Holders
  • Grade A - Electrical License
  • Instrumentation Technician
  • Electrical Fitters
  • Electrical or Control Engineer

Essential Criteria

Whether you are an Electrical TA or a Grade A Electrician, we are seeking candidates that;

  • Possess at least 6 Months experience in Switchboard / Control Panel Manufacture / Build, Repair or Modifications
  • Be able to read off electrical diagrams – Line Drawings & Panel Layouts

Additionally, candidates that can demonstrate the following skills and traits are high on our list;

  • Attention to detail
  • Have the intention to commit to work at least until mid December 2025
  • Be reliable, punctual and have a great work ethic
  • Understand electrical theory such as electrical voltage and control of electrical current
  • Be very safety conscious
  • Take pride in your work
  • Have contactable references

Remuneration

Depending on past work experience, technical expertise and qualification pay rates will vary from;

  • $35.00 to $42.00 Per Hour (Depending on Experience)
  • + Over Time
  • + Super
  • Paid Weekly
