Company Description
Bilue is a digital consultancy that designs and builds smart, user-friendly technology for some of Australia's most well-known businesses. From mobile apps to beautifully designed web platforms and digital experiences, we create solutions that drive impact and deliver exceptional customer outcomes.
Our culture is people-first and purpose-driven. We're a down-to-earth, values-led team with offices in Sydney and Melbourne, and a growing presence in Manila. We genuinely enjoy working together, whether we're solving tough tech problems, brainstorming creative solutions, or grabbing a coffee between meetings. Curiosity is encouraged. Collaboration is second nature.
We value excellence, not ego, and back each other to do great work without micromanagement. With low politics and high trust, it's a place where delivery people, designers, and engineers genuinely connect, and where everyone has a voice, space to grow, and a little fun along the way.
Job Description
At Bilue, we set a high bar for quality, craft, and client impact. As a Technical Transformation Lead, you'll play a critical role in supporting senior technology leaders to shape and deliver a large-scale banking platform transformation, consolidating systems, migrating data and integrating platforms across Azure in a regulated environment.
Working closely with the Head of Engineering and Head of Transformation, you'll help define the technical approach, structure delivery workstreams and sequence change across domains like core banking, digital channels, payments and reporting. This is a hands-on, technical role, you are the doer who takes future-state architecture and helps make it real by identifying and working through the change required in each platform and function.
You'll collaborate with SME platform teams to break down what needs to change, in what order and how to deliver it safely. This role sits at the intersection of architecture, delivery and programme planning, ideal for someone with strong systems knowledge and experience executing transformation in complex, regulated environments.
Given the close collaboration required, regular on-site presence is essential. The successful candidate must be able to travel and work closely with the client's local teams, typically 2 days per fortnight in Newcastle, with flexibility around arrangements. Relocation full time is also an option for the right candidate.
Responsibilities
- Support the definition and coordination of technical workstreams across a major banking transformation, working closely with senior leadership to determine how and in what order to consolidate and migrate systems.
- Translate enterprise architecture and future-state designs into practical delivery plans, working through the detailed changes required at the platform level.
- Collaborate with platform SMEs (e.g. channels, lending, core, payments, data) to identify technical dependencies, scope, risks, and migration steps.
- Help shape the technical approach and delivery model for migrating from legacy systems to a modern Azure-based environment, ensuring performance, compliance, and operational continuity.
- Support the design of test, cutover, and validation strategies to ensure secure and auditable migration execution.
- Provide input into integration and architectural decisions, focusing on execution detail and delivery impact.
- Identify and help resolve blockers across technical streams, coordinating with business, risk, and operations stakeholders as needed.
Qualifications
About You
- Experience supporting banking or financial services transformation programmes, ideally including platform migrations, system consolidation, or replatforming in regulated environments.
- Strong understanding of enterprise systems – e.g. core banking, lending, digital channels, payments, or reporting – and how these interconnect.
- Proven ability to break down complex transformation goals into clear, deliverable change across multiple technical teams.
- Hands-on experience working with SME teams to plan, prioritise, and deliver system change, including sequencing and impact management.
- Familiarity with Azure cloud environments and modern architectural practices.
- Comfortable working in complex, multi-stakeholder settings with competing priorities and high regulatory expectations
