A Federal Government department is seeking a highly skilled and experienced
Senior Network Engineer
to act as a key escalation point within an ongoing Network Project. The successful candidate will serve as the primary technical contact, providing expert guidance, resolving complex network issues, and ensuring the smooth implementation of advanced solutions. This role requires deep expertise in
Fortinet SD-WAN, FortiGate, Azure NVA deployments, FortiClient, FortiSASE, and FortiSandbox
. The ideal candidate will demonstrate exceptional troubleshooting skills, a proactive problem-solving approach, and the ability to deliver timely, effective resolutions that maintain project momentum and minimise operational downtime. This position plays a critical role in ensuring the successful deployment and continued reliability of the department's network infrastructure.

Key duties and responsibilities

  1. Demonstrated Network Experience: Proven experience working in a contemporary, secure ICT environment with expertise in technical services, particularly in:

  2. Azure Cloud Infrastructure

  3. FortiGate Firewalls
  4. Fortinet SD-WAN
  5. Fortinet Azure NVA deployments
  6. FortiClient
  7. FortiSASE

  8. FortiSandbox

  9. Communication Skills: Highly developed written and oral communication skills, especially in discussing technical and strategic matters with non-technical stakeholders.

  10. Attention to Detail: Demonstrated high level of attention to detail, including the ability to write detailed technical documentation.
  11. Network Mapping: Ability to map data movements across network zones and cross-domain environments.
  12. Visio Proficiency: Strong skills in creating detailed network diagrams using Microsoft Visio.
