About the Role
A values-driven provider is seeking a practical, compassionate Support Worker to assist participants with complex emotional and psychosocial needs. This is a casual role for a growing company, up to 20 hours per week, working with multiple participants, depending on fit and availability.
This role is combination of hands-on and relationship-based. We're looking for someone who brings life experience, emotional maturity, and a strong work ethic to the table.
Key Duties
• Cleaning and household support: including tidying, laundry, meal prep, and general upkeep
• Working closely with families to support routines and maintain emotional safety
• Thinking on your feet: responding calmly and adaptively to changing needs
• Practical, hard-working presence: someone who shows initiative and reliability
• Engaging respectfully with participants navigating trauma, mental health challenges, or emotional vulnerability
• Maintaining accurate, confidential documentation including progress notes and handovers
Essential Criteria
• ABN and ability to work as an independent contractor
• Experience supporting individuals with emotional or psychosocial complexities
• Strong communication and documentation skills
• NDIS Worker Screening Check (mandatory)
• Working with Children Check and First Aid certification
• Driver's license and reliable transport
Desirable Attributes
• Certificate in Mental Health, Community Services, or a related field
• Life experience, emotional maturity, calm under pressure.
• Confidence in navigating sensitive scenarios with discretion and care
• Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team culture
• Proactive mindset – someone who takes initiative and completes tasks without needing to be asked
• Practical, hard-working, and able to think on your feet
While relevant certificates and checks are mandatory—including a current NDIS Worker Screening Check—we welcome applications from individuals of all backgrounds. Reference checks will be conducted, but we are open to supporting anyone who demonstrates a genuine desire to work in this field, supporting certification in this industry. Life experience, emotional maturity, and a commitment to ethical, participant-centered care are highly valued.
To Apply
If you're someone who leads with care, works with integrity, and thrives in practical, emotionally attuned environments—we'd love to hear from you. Please submit your resume and a brief cover letter outlining your experience and interest in the role.
