Position Summary

The Business Development Manager (BDM) – Victoria will play a key role in driving growth for EcoSmart's Australian-made range of high-performance solar and heat pump water heaters. The role is focused on building strategic relationships with green energy retailers ("green shops"), solar installers, renewable energy companies, hot water specialists, in addition to both building and plumbing merchants. This is an exciting opportunity for a results-driven sales professional passionate about sustainability and local manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and develop new business opportunities with green energy retailers, solar installers and renewable energy companies
  • Account management and customer development for building and plumbing merchants, including Bunnings Trade, Plumbing Plus and Plumbers Supplies Co-op.
  • Promote Ecosmart's range of high-performing, Australian-made solar and heat pump water heaters
  • Deliver tailored product presentations and solutions to suit the needs of renewable energy partners and commercial clients
  • Execute sales strategies to achieve sales targets and territory growth
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders and decision-makers
  • Work closely with internal teams across marketing, logistics, and technical support to ensure seamless customer service
  • Stay up to date with industry trends, sustainability incentives, and Victorian energy policies
  • Maintain accurate sales data, forecasts, and customer engagement records in CRM

Key Selection Criteria

Essential:

  • Minimum 2 years of sales experience selling into the renewable energy sector in Victoria
  • Passion for sustainability and supporting the growth of locally manufactured products
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
  • Self-motivated with a results-oriented mindset and ability to work independently
  • Valid driver's licence and willingness to travel across Victoria

Desirable:

  • Strong understanding of solar and heat pump water heaters, or energy-efficient technologies
  • Existing relationships in the renewable energy industry or green building market
  • Familiarity with Victorian energy efficiency rebates and programs
  • Experience with CRM platforms such as Zoho or Microsoft Dynamics
