About the Role:

As a Trailer Bay Mechanic, you will be responsible for the inspection, servicing, and repair of trailers within our fleet. This is a hands-on role that requires a keen eye for detail, mechanical expertise, and a strong commitment to safety and quality workmanship.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Performing scheduled maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on trailers.
  • Inspecting and repairing suspension systems, pneumatic/hydraulic systems, and braking systems.
  • Replacing and repairing lights, wiring harnesses, and basic electrical circuits.
  • Conducting mechanical inspections and troubleshooting faults.
  • Using and maintaining workplace tools and equipment effectively.
  • Ensuring the workshop remains clean, safe, and efficient.
  • Keeping detailed records of work performed and participating in safety initiatives.

What We're Looking For:

  • Trade qualification in Automotive Mechanics (or equivalent experience).
  • Experience working with trailer servicing, suspension systems, and braking systems.
  • Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proven experience as a trailer mechanic, with expertise in diagnosing and re-pairing mechanical and structural issues.
  • Strong knowledge of truck trailer systems and components, including brakes, suspension, electrical systems, and hydraulics.
  • Proficiency in using diagnostic tools, hand tools, and power tools for maintenance and repair tasks.
  • Familiarity with regulatory standards and safety requirements governing trailer maintenance and operations.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Effective communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with colleagues, supervisors, and external stakeholders.
  • Commitment to workplace safety and attention to detail.
  • Valid Driver's Licence (MC preferred but not essential).
  • Forklift or other relevant licenses (desirable but not essential).
