About the opportunity
The Early Careers Program is a flagship workforce initiative inspired by the Mental Health Royal Commission, aimed at attracting and developing qualified staff working in the health care industry currently. The Mercy Mental Health Program offers a supportive and collaborative environment, where you'll join a dedicated multidisciplinary team committed to recovery-oriented care. This 12-month fixed term position provides an exceptional chance for an experienced Allied health clinician to deepen their mental health exposure and expertise through structured clinical placements across inpatient and community settings. You will work alongside specialised mental health Allied health staff, receiving comprehensive education, supervision, and hands-on experience to build your confidence and skills.
- The program provides Allied health staff an opportunity to advance their mental health Allied health knowledge and consolidate their skills.
- This role incorporates a high level of discipline specific assessments and interventions along with mental health assessments.
- This role works with a diverse multi-disciplinary team which requires you to provide highly responsive and flexible service to consumers and carer.

- The ability to work collaboratively within a team, supported by excellent communication, time management, and organisational skills, and a willingness to engage in supervision and reflective practice.
- Resilience, adaptability, and flexibility in responding to the needs of diverse consumers, their families, and changing clinical priorities.
You will also be required to provide evidence of, or in the process of obtaining:
- Current Registration with AHPRA
- A current Police Record Check and Working with Children Check.
- Proof of current influenza vaccination and other vaccination status consistent with public health orders.
