About the role
As our Production Manager you will be responsible for managing the operations within our 11,000sqm purpose-built facility which includes semi-automated production lines that produce timber based structural solutions including closed panel walls, floor and roof cassettes and fully completed modules. 

We are looking for a passionate and strategically minded Production Manager who will lead the transformation of the business from a building to manufacturing mindset. You will provide leadership and support to our production staff and assist in the further development and continuous improvement of our company.

• Ensure all work carried out adheres to quality, compliance, safety, reliability, and cost requirements
• Analyse operations and then implement and manage lean manufacturing principles
• Drive a culture of lean manufacturing through the 5S methodology and continuous improvement principles
• Responsible for leading and managing all site activities including safety management, quality, production, maintenance, procurement, logistics and projects
• Ensure the right data (within Odoo) is collected and reported accurately and on-time. Use this data to then manage and drive performance and improvements
• Actively drive production efficiency and productivity so that production KPIs are achieved
• Collaborate with other areas of the business to ensure the production line delivers on its business plan and targets
• Manage day-to-day coordination of operations, including labour, materials and equipment
• Ensure resourcing, manufacturing, production and inventory align with business and safety targets
• Provide support in relation to low-level machine breakdowns by contacting subcontractors, ordering parts, troubleshooting, and seeing the matter through to resolution
  
• Provide hands-on assistance to direct reports and other manufacturing team members when required

• Minimum 5 years' experience as a Production Manager (or a similar role) within a manufacturing environment
• Tertiary qualification in Engineering or Production advantageous
• Proven experience in implementing best practice manufacturing programs and continuous improvement initiatives (such as balancing production line, lead and lag indicators, quality, just in time, performance management, standardised work)
• Comprehensive understanding of lean manufacturing concepts including the 5S methodology
• Ability to build, maintain and leverage strong relationships with direct reports and all stakeholders across the business 
• Strong problem solving and decision-making skills
• Ability to take initiative
• Ability to lead, mentor and develop team members at all levels of experience 
• Experience with creating and maintaining, engaged, collaborative and positive teams
  
• Strong computer and data skills especially with the collection and reporting of floor data
