About the Role

We're looking for an experienced Data Governance Consultant with a Tier 1 or Tier 2 consulting background to help drive meaningful data governance and risk management outcomes for one of our enterprise clients.

This is not a technical or tooling-heavy role. We want someone who understands how to engage with business leaders, negotiate outcomes, and embed governance at a strategic and conceptual level. Your ability to influence and bring stakeholders on the journey will be your strongest asset.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement enterprise-wide data governance frameworks, policies, and standards
  • Work closely with business units to embed governance practices, educate stakeholders, and guide adoption
  • Conduct data risk assessments, identifying and managing risks tied to data management and regulatory requirements
  • Act as a trusted advisor to clients, articulating the business value of data governance and risk in a non-technical, compelling way
  • Lead and manage multiple client engagements simultaneously, operating at both strategic and executional levels
  • Influence senior business stakeholders to align on governance priorities, roles, and responsibilities
  • Work at a highly conceptual level across diverse industries, understanding and adapting to different business models and risk appetites

Key Focus

  • 10+ years' experience in data governance, data management, or information governance
  • Recent experience in a Tier 1 or Tier 2 consulting firm
  • Strong experience drafting data governance policies, standards, and frameworks
  • Exceptional stakeholder engagement and communication skills you must be comfortable working with senior leaders, business SMEs, and cross-functional teams
  • Experience with data risk, including performing data-related risk assessments
  • Strong conceptual thinker with a business-first mindset – able to translate governance and risk into real-world value
  • Able to manage multiple client projects or workstreams in parallel
  • No requirement for specific data tools (e.g., Collibra, Informatica) – this is not a tooling role
