What you'll be doing

The Health Professional Educator (Social Work) is responsible for the promotion, design, development, delivery and evaluation of education programs to both Social Workers and Social Work students within NSRHS Social Work Department.

This includes; continuing professional education, new graduate orientation and general staff development courses aimed at building capacity of Social Work clinicians to provide excellence in clinical care and excellence in entry level clinical training to Social Work students.

The Health Professional Educator will be required to participate in and promote quality improvement activities and the development and implementation of research activities.

Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:

  • Consistently demonstrates behaviours that reinforce the CORE Values of our organisation; Collaboration, Openness, Respect and Empowerment. Demonstrates these behaviours with all stakeholders; colleagues, direct reports, as well as our patients and consumers, and those that care for them.
  • Tertiary qualifications in Social Work providing eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers with experience at level 2 as a minimum.
  • Extensive clinical social work experience in a hospital setting across a variety of clinical areas.
  • Demonstrated skills required to effectively design, develop, deliver and evaluate education and programs for social workers and social work students.
  • Comprehensive understanding and application of adult learning principles in continuing professional development and field education.
  • Demonstrated experience in the supervision of social work students and social work clinicians.
  • Demonstrated commitment to continuous Quality Improvement, Evidence Based Practice and the development and implementation of research skills.
