About the Role

We are looking for a proactive, organised and detail-driven People & Culture Coordinator to join our team. Reporting to the Director People & Culture, this newly created role will play a key part in managing some P&C programs (health and wellbeing, internships), contributing to research and review of programs and keeping our people systems up to date and accurate. You'll get a great mix of responsibilities and be a key part of delivering high-quality People & Culture programs.

As it's a new role we have initially scoped it as a casual role for 2 days per week with potential to convert to permanent part-time in the year ahead. Hours can be mutually agreed, and the role will be suitable for hybrid working under our Working From Home policy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Internship program management: Support planning and coordination of internship placements.
  • Health & Wellbeing program management: Consult with leadership and staff on priorities and preferences; manage overall planning of wellbeing program; ensure delivery of specific initiatives in partnership with Exec Admin Coordinator.
  • Employment Hero (EH) Platform Administration: Maintain accurate records for new joiners and existing employees including remuneration updates, role changes, hours adjustments, and reporting line updates. Also set up and monitor completion of induction training through EH/Go1. Stay abreast of and evaluate EH platform enhancements so we're benefitting from useful functionality as the platform evolves.
  • Research and data analysis for continuous improvement: Complete research and analyse data to support program design and review, P&C-related policy development and review and continuous improvement of P&C processes, as required.
  • Remuneration benchmarking support: Compile detailed remuneration data for remuneration benchmarking.
  • Policy and compliance training: Coordinate policy and compliance training; consult with stakeholders on key requirements, review and recommend appropriate training to suit priority areas, track completion, and follow up as needed.
  • Certification maintenance: Collaborate with Lab & Facilities team to implement and maintain Certification details within Employment Hero (eg, CPR, First Aid).
  • All-Staff meeting support: Coordinate presentation development for quarterly meetings.
  • Annual health monitoring: Arrange health checks for lab-based staff and manage follow-ups.

Candidate Profile

Applications must explicitly address the following key selection criteria:

  1. Applicants must have the right to live and work in Australia
  2. Diploma or degree in Human Resources, Psychology or related behavioural science field and/or ~2 years' prior HR/P&C experience
  3. A work style characterized by diligence, integrity and a strong work ethic
  4. Personal attributes of flexibility, responsiveness and being able to work with and get along well with others
  5. Strong teamwork, communication and interpersonal skills
  6. Basic understanding of Australian employment laws and workplace compliance requirements and a strong interest in staying up to date with HR-related topics and issues, to contribute to our program development/review, continuous improvement and compliance
  7. Strong organisational skills including the ability to keep accurate records
  8. Ability to analyse HR data and compile reports for benchmarking and continuous improvement purposes
  9. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel for data analysis and reporting
