Ngurratjuta/Pmara Ntjarra Aboriginal Corporation, Alice Springs Far West Region provides jobs, participation and Community-Development services in Haasts Bluff, Papunya, Mt Liebig and Kintore.
The original purpose of the organisation is to provide financially independent Aboriginal Communities with Inter-Community Corporations and utilise royalty funds to build an active investment base to protect accumulated royalty funds. It provides a growing income base for the Member Communities and stimulated job opportunities and venture activities for members, while actively supporting Community development activities and infrastructure improvements in member Communities.
POSITION OVERVIEW – PROJECT SUPPORT OFFICER
The Project Support Officer is responsible for coordinating and delivering community-based projects. This role focuses on planning, implementing, and monitoring project activities that contribute to program development, capacity building, and improved service delivery. The Project Support Officer works closely with stakeholders, manages resources, tracks progress, and ensures compliance with program guidelines. The role's core function is project management and operational coordination.
ABOUT THE ROLE:
We are looking for a self-motivated person with flexibility of approach and who wants to be part of the team working towards local community-led change.
The incumbent will be required to perform responsibilities to a high standard, within agreed timelines and in line with the visions, missions, and values of the organization.
REPORTS TO: SERVICES MANAGER
LOCATION: This role is based in either Mount Liebig/Alice Springs with responsibilities extending to other local communities.
WORK HOURS: 37.5 hours per week.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
The primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Project Planning & Coordination
- Design and implement program service delivery projects aligned funding requirements.
- Develop project schedules, allocate resources, and manage timelines.
- Coordinate with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure project alignment.
- Monitor project milestones and deliverables, ensuring timely and budget-compliant execution.
- Identify risks and implement mitigation strategies to support successful outcomes.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Build and maintain relationships with community leaders, service providers, and government agencies.
- Facilitate regular communication and consultation with stakeholders to ensure project relevance and support.
Operational & Administrative Support
- Prepare and submit project documentation, reports, and compliance records.
- Support budget tracking, procurement, and material requests for project activities.
- Ensure office operations and project delivery align with funding agreements.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Monitoring & Evaluation
- Track project performance using established KPIs and reporting tools.
- Collect and analyze data to assess project impact and inform future planning.
- Ensure documentation meets program standards and audit requirements.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
You will have an understanding that the administrative element of the job is crucial, and you'll also have:
Essential Criteria:
- Proven experience in project coordination or community development.
- Strong understanding of Indigenous community dynamics and socio-economic challenges.
- Excellent organizational, planning, and time management skills.
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.
- Attention to detail in documentation and reporting.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Additionally, you will have:
- Demonstrated experience working effectively with remote Aboriginal communities
- Experience in planning and delivering community-based projects.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills.
- Proficiency in using project management and reporting systems.
- Current NT Driver's Licence, Ochre Card, and Police Clearance.
- Willingness and ability to travel for work.
