Consultant Psychiatrist – Staff Specialist (Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry)

Salary: $216,300 – $310, % Super + Salary Packaging & Relocation Support

We are seeking a Consultant Psychiatrist with expertise in Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry to join a leading public health service in Tasmania. Based in Hobart, this is a unique opportunity to work in a collaborative and multi-disciplinary mental health team within a major tertiary teaching hospital setting.

About the Role:

As a Staff Specialist in the Consultation-Liaison team, you will:

  • Deliver high-quality general adult psychiatric services to inpatients and outpatients, including emergency and short-stay mental health settings.
  • Act as a key consultant to a range of health professionals, including medical, allied health, and community providers.
  • Supervise and mentor psychiatric registrars and junior medical staff.
  • Play a pivotal role in advancing mental health care delivery aligned with national standards and service principles.

This position is within a well-established and highly respected public healthcare provider in Tasmania, known for its integrated services across acute, community, and mental health care. The hospital is one of the largest in the state and plays a critical role in serving the southern Tasmanian population with comprehensive, multidisciplinary healthcare services.
