About the role
CPBS is seeking a highly experienced Positive Behaviour Support professional for the role of Complex Case Behaviour Support Specialist. As a Complex Case Behaviour Support Specialist, you’ll report to the Regional Clinical Manager for Tasmania. Our work is based on the principles of Multi-Element Behaviour Support (MEBS) and Positive Behaviour Support for children and adults in the home, community, and school/workplace settings. Providing interventions to participants with particularly challenging and complex needs with be at the heart of your role. You'll conduct assessments and develop and implement behavioural support plans and programmes. You’ll also assist the Regional Clinical Manager with leadership and specialist training support as required.
What you'll do
- Make positive and distinct changes to the lives of others by developing and maintaining relationships

Complete both introductory and advanced IABA training in MEBS, gaining expertise in its implementation
Provide direct and indirect MEBS interventions for clients with complex needs.
Conduct Functional Analysis, Assessments, and develop Behaviour Support Plans.
Lead organisational behaviour management and continuous quality improvement initiatives for mediators.
Train and support colleagues, caregivers, and support workers on clinical techniques.
Provide leadership by assisting the Regional Clinical Manager.
Collaborate with professionals (doctors, psychiatrists, speech and occupational therapists) to create and implement personalised goals and checklists.
Facilitate MEBS training in the CPBS Training Academy when needed.
Ensure compliance with legislative requirements for accurate and timely report writing and documentation.
**Skills and Experiences**:
What you'll need
Possess or be in the process of completing a Master's level post graduate qualification in Positive Behaviour Support, Applied Behaviour Analysis or similar
Hold an NDIS Practitioner ID, endorsed at an Advanced level or above, plus NDIS Workers Screening Check and Working with Children Check.
Strong experience providing Positive Behaviour Support services with complex case participants
Demonstrated experience in providing clinical expertise, leadership, and training to a team of Behaviour Support Practitioners
Willingness to undergo training and develop expertise in MEBS
Ability to prepare and finalise technical reports in a timely manner, using high-level verbal and written communication skills
Effective time management skills, managing multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
