Introduction and Team you will belong to
The position of Senior Safety Advisor works closely with all people within Metso to ensure its employees, partners and customers strive towards and achieve a safe and injury free workplace. The position is also concerned with design, maintenance and implementation of Metso Safety and Environment Systems and associated programs, ensuring that these systems and programs meet National and International Standards.
Only those with full working rights in Australia need apply and it is noted that this role will require the successful applicant to undertake travel intra-state and locally up to 50% of the time, sometimes at short notice.

The Role Responsibilities:
- Support the development and implementation of HSE systems
- Lead and support key influencers, including managers on strategies to foster an organisational culture that prioritises HSE
- Lead development of risk management processes and facilitate and support their implementation and maintenance
- Communicate, engage with and influence decision makers and other stakeholders to mitigate risk and optimise HSE
- Promote and apply professional, ethical and legal standards to practice
- Develop and lead processes for monitoring, measuring and evaluating HSE performance
The successful candidate will possess the following:
Essential
- Tertiary qualifications in HSE or a related field
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience in mining, manufacturing or related industries
- Experience with the facilitation of incident investigations – ICAM highly desirable
- Must be able to travel up to 50% of the time by motor vehicle and commercial flights.
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
- Excellent negotiation and persuasive skills.
Desirable
- Injury management experience and qualifications
- Lead Auditor experience and qualifications
- Experience in delivering training programs
