As a Senior Pharmacist, you will coordinate and lead a clinical Pharmacy service for the Division of Palliative Care, providing professional leadership and direction.

Responsible for contributing to the provision of a comprehensive range of pharmacy services to palliative care outpatients and inpatients and ensuring effective medication management and quality use of medicines. This includes but is not limited to accessibility to specialised palliative care medicine, compounding, clinical pharmacy services, outpatient services, drug information, education and research. The position will plan, implement and evaluate patient safety and quality of care including development of clinical guidelines and policies, to optimise end-of-life medication management.

Pharmacy services are to be provided in a legal, professional and ethical manner and in accordance with relevant legislation and evidence-based standards, codes, guidelines and policies, including those developed by:

  • Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Authority (AHPRA)
  • The Pharmacy Board of Australia (PBA)
  • Australia Commission on Safety & Quality in Health Care (ACSQHC)
  • The Society of Hospital Pharmacists of Australia (SHPA)
  • The Pharmaceutical Society of Australia (PSA)
  • Illawarra Shoalhaven LHD
  • NSW Ministry of Health
