We are seeking a dynamic and committed Clinical Psychologist or Clinical Psychology Registrar to join our dedicated team in a permanent full-time role. This role sits within the medical rehabilitation service which includes the newly established Rehabilitation Cognitive Therapy Unit (RCTU) located in the new, modern Kensington Street Building at St George Hospital.
This is a unique opportunity to work in a specialist clinical area, supporting patients with mild to moderate acquired brain injuries, their families and carers in their journey. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in delivering holistic, person-centred care as part of a multidisciplinary team (MDT) in the enhanced Rehabilitation unit and will be focused on supporting people as they rebuild thinking, communication, and daily living skills following neurological injury or illness.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing evidence-based psychological assessment and intervention for a wide range of psychological issues associated with illness and disability for patients admitted to hospital following an acute neurological event.
- Development and implementation of individual and group treatment protocols suitable for those with an acquired brain injury and/or other complex medical presentations
- Collaborating closely with medical, nursing, and allied health to ensure integrated care delivery.
We are looking for a clinical psychologist or clinical psychology registrar who brings clinical expertise, emotional intelligence, and passion for advocating for vulnerable patients and supporting families through challenging health transitions. Full time or Permanent Part time job share arrangements will be considered.

Selection Criteria
- Full registration with the Psychology Board of Australia, with Endorsement in Clinical Psychology (or eligibility to progress to same), along with a minimum two-year full-time equivalent Master or Doctorate degree in Clinical Psychology.
- Demonstrated experience in the provision of evidence-based psychological assessment and intervention for a range of psychological issues associated with illness and disability, along with the evaluation of clinical outcomes.
- Capacity to design and implement individual and group treatment protocols for a range of psychological issues presenting in the context of acquired brain injury and/or other complex medical conditions.
- Demonstrate high level written and verbal communication skills, organisational skills and time management skills
- Ability to provide in-depth advice and education to enhance service delivery and to guide and support others in providing service excellence, with the capacity to provide clinical supervision to other staff
- Demonstrated experience working as part of a multi-disciplinary team in a health setting
- Demonstrated experience in and commitment to quality improvement and research
