Chief Executive Officer
This is an exciting opportunity to lead a diverse, well-established organisation through the next phase of development and further consolidate its market leading position, while also enjoying a regional, northern Australian lifestyle and all that it offers.
Established since 1963 our client, Ord River District Co-operative Ltd (ORDCO), is an independent agricultural co-operative based in the Ord River Irrigation Area (ORIA), Kununurra (Western Australia), that delivers a complete range of farming inputs and services, including: rural merchandise; grower services; and commodity handling & marketing. ORDCO is also a shareholder in the Kimberley Cotton Company, which operates a modern cotton processing facility in the region.
As a result of significant development over recent years, the opportunity now exists for an experienced leader to manage the organisation, further develop its brand experience and position the organisation for future development and growth.
Reporting to the Board of (Non-Executive) Directors, in this role you will work with the Board to formulate and maintain the strategic direction of the business, which will include: managing relationships with key stakeholders; leading and developing the team; business and operational planning; change leadership; compliance oversight; and continued development of the business through a customer-centric culture of continuous improvement.
You will be a natural leader and relationship manager whose sharp intellect is governed by your emotional intelligence and pragmatic, 'people first' approach. While performance focused, you will be governance-oriented and committed to long-term sustainability.
Demonstrated leadership and relationship management experience, ideally within the agricultural or related sector/s, and an understanding of the remote, seasonal and multifaceted stakeholder environment are essential; while relevant tertiary qualifications will be well regarded.
Commensurate with the role, an attractive remuneration package will be considered for the successful candidate.
Situated among the scenic foothills and ranges of the far north-east Kimberley region, Kununurra is surrounded by stunning landscapes, including the Ord River and Lake Kununurra. Known for its agricultural productivity, thriving tourism, rich indigenous culture and proximity to the region's unique flora and fauna, Kununurra is home to 5,500 people and offers the facilities and sense of community for a relaxed, rural family lifestyle.
