The Opportunity

A rare opportunity to shape and execute the enterprise-wide data strategy, with a strong focus on embedding AI capabilities across the business.

This role will lead the data architecture, governance, and analytics functions, ensuring data is a strategic asset that drives innovation, operational efficiency, and competitive advantage.

You will oversee the development of scalable data platforms, champion data quality and governance, and lead the integration of AI and machine learning into core business processes. As a key technology partner to the business, you will align data initiatives with strategic goals and foster a culture of data-driven decision-making.

Key Deliverables

• Lead the design and implementation of modern data architecture, including data lakes, warehouses, management of master data, and real-time pipelines.
• Develop and execute a comprehensive data and AI strategy aligned with business objectives.
• Establish and enforce data governance frameworks, policies, and standards.
• Collaborate with business and technology leaders to identify high-impact data opportunities that maximise the value of data produced by the organisation.
• Drive the adoption of AI/ML technologies to enhance decision-making, automation, and customer experience.
• Lead and develop a high-performing team of direct reports, including data engineers, scientists, and analysts.
• Oversee the development of data products and services that support business operation and innovation and facilitate data-driven decision making.
• Ensure compliance with data privacy, security, and regulatory requirements.
• Promote a data-first culture through education, advocacy, and community of practice leadership.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and trends in AI, data platforms, and analytics.

About You

Key to your success in this role will be your strong people leadership experience, with proven ability to successfully lead a high-performing team of data engineers, data scientists and analysts.

In addition to this, you will be able to get into the detail with a strong foundation in data architecture, whilst being able to drive the bigger picture delivering on our enterprise-wide data strategy and the integration of AI into the business.

You will also possess the following:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, or related field; or 10–15 years of experience in data leadership roles.
• Strong background in data architecture, engineering, and governance.
• Proven experience leading enterprise data and analytics functions, including AI/ML initiatives.
• Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive cultural change.
• Experience with cloud-based data platforms and hybrid environments.
• Deep understanding of AI/ML technologies and their application in business contexts.
• Strong leadership and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Ability to translate complex data concepts into business value.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, including with C-level stakeholders.
