About the Role

The Finance Branch is responsible for the financial management and governance, ensuring effective business management and legislative compliance.

The Management Accountant will provide accurate and timely financial information and advice to support the organisation.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Provision of accounting support to Directorate, Branch and Team Management, the Coordinator Financial Services and Senior Management Accountants to facilitate the preparation of the annual budget and ongoing budget reviews in accordance with organisational timeframes and requirements.
  • Provision of accounting support to Directorate, Branch and Team Management and Senior Management Accountants to ensure accurate month end processing and timely delivery of financial month end reports.
  • Development and maintenance of processes to track the financial status of various projects. This includes the on-going review of existing processes and forward planning of branches' future financial requirements.

About you

As a requirement of this role you will possess tertiary degree qualifications in a relevant discipline, preferably supported by further professional development.

You will have demonstrated experience in an accounting position producing management reports in accordance with the relevant accounting standards.

You will have demonstrated proficiency in computer system applications, including integrated financial systems, databases, spreadsheets and personal application software, and have highly developed communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate persuasively, engage in active listening, consult with a wide range of people at all levels of the Council, fostering collaboration and cooperation.
