Project Engineer

Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the Project Engineer provides a range of technical services to the site including the development of engineered solutions to support operations & maintenance activities; project scope, schedule, budget and quality plan management.

We are seeking to engage a competent person with experience in simple engineered solutions through to complex multi-discipline projects.

Our selected applicant will have demonstrated experience actively managing projects  from conceptual design to final production handover.

Effective communication, advanced drafting and design capabilities & experience, prioritisation and resolution skillsets are mandatory for this position.

The role:

  • Generates engineered solutions that improve the performance of plant and the safety of those operating plant and equipment.
  • Provides mentoring and technical support for team members
  • Actively contributes to the engineering teams KPI's, encompassing safety, SWP's and RCFA's
  • Champions the sites EEO program to improve the energy efficiency of the plant
  • Manages the sites Capex & CI programs including reporting & process update

We are looking for:

  • Mechanical Engineering Degree preferred.
  • Min 5 years' experience in mechanical, piping, structural concept design and drafting in boilers, pumping and piping system, large complex plant and equipment including materials handling systems.
  • Project management experience with an understanding of PMBoK methodology.
  • Engineering capacity to assess key design requirements, generate solutions and breakdown the solution into work tasks for implementation.
  • A person who enjoys understanding how plant and equipment operate and can visualise  and implement improvements.
  • Experience in managing consultants, contractors, maintenance & engineering people including performance management.
  • Comprehensive computer skills and experience in CAD programs including AutoCAD and SolidWorks, MS Project, Word and Excel.
  • Commitment and outstanding attitude to safety and workplace culture.
  • Proven leadership and empowerment of employees.
