DBM Vircon's Digital Engineering team is growing, and we are currently recruiting for a Digital Coordinator, to join our Brisbane based team. You will be responsible for managing Digital Engineering / BIM delivery and continuous improvement of the DBM Vircon Digital Engineering processes. Innovation and a solutions focus drive is integral to this role, as well as possessing the drive to improve technical skills. You will need to have a collaborative focus and be able to fit in a strong team culture.
Key Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Service Lead – Digital Engineering – Energy and Utilities, your main responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
- Day to day management of digital engineering deliverables.
- Collaborate with project teams and maintain strong client relationships.
- Support the preparation and delivery of project reporting, including monthly reports.
- Develop and optimise digital workflows, processes, and applications.
- Identify innovation opportunities and contribute to R&D initiatives aligned with company goals.
- Assist with identifying and developing new business opportunities with existing and potential clients.
- Manage design consultant and sub-contractor coordination, including federated model creation and management.
- Create, review, and maintain project-specific digital engineering / BIM plans in line with current standards.
- Troubleshoot digital systems, audit models, and ensure compliance with project requirements and best practices.
Essential Criteria:
- Basic understanding of digital engineering / BIM processes.
- Basic understanding and awareness of modelling and drafting.
- Capability of working with federated models and utilising these for digital engineering workflows.
- Ability to set up and maintain a common data environment (CDE).
- Solid understanding of the design and construction processes used across all stages of the projects (industrial, infrastructure and commercial sectors) lifecycle.
- Awareness of OpenBIM workflows, interoperability and exchange between various authoring and BIM management tools.
- An understanding of data requirements throughout the lifecycle of the project.
- High level skills in basic office tools including MS Office applications, document management tools, issue tracking systems.
- Ability to work efficiently in small to large multi-disciplinary teams and share and transfer knowledge within teams.
- Commercial awareness to identify future opportunities with clients and support business processes (proposals, scoping, time estimation).
- Initiative and a willingness to learn and continuously improve on performance.
Desired Qualifications:
- Diploma or Bachelor related to the construction industry (architecture, engineering, construction management etc.).
- Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in the AEC, energy, mining, or industrial sectors.
- Experience in the use or knowledge of BIM software.
