Position Description - National Training Lead

About the role -
***This role is not a full time role, it is about assuming a more senior leadership position taking on additional responsibilities as a career development opportunity/ potential pathway to Leadership roles (much like being a President of one of our communities).
This role exists to champion a Nationally consistent and best practice framework for delivery of training across all States & territories by our State based Training specialists.
The training team exist to constantly lift the capability of our brokers and our corporate team to be able to operate productively / efficiently/ safely particularly but not exclusively through their full utilisation of our technology (MyCRM Other) and other best practice processes/ tools/ frameworks we may choose to train people to use.
Key responsibilities (in addition to your core role as a Training Specialist) include:
- National training framework owner - design & drive consistency in line with agreed priorities/ the National training roadmap, and differentiation by service plan, ensuring distribution teams are trained prior to the network
- Active participation in and the national voice of, all state based practitioners in relevant forums:
- Learning Leadership group
- LM/ Partner Extended Leadership group
- Initiate and drive strategy, innovation & continuous improvement of training
- Influence the Broker education and training team to deliver on relevant support needed by the training specialists (eg materials, train the trainer, Brokerversity, broker ed infrastructure, reporting etc)
- Regularly collate feedback/ training needs that have been identified and represent these to the Learning leadership group, the Broker education & training design team and/ or the Product team
- Nationally coordinate the updating any training modules/ materials by assigning modules to various training specialists for review (ie National team/ sharing this workload to drive efficiency and currency of materials)
- Set consistent KPIs & measurement framework for state based training specialists (for LM Leadership team approval)
- Measure & report on the impact/ value created and KPI delivery
- Build a community and sense of belonging amongst the training specialists - where best practice and learnings are shared, and all work to lift each other up/ support each other through peak periods/ leave etc.
- Drive the professional development capability assessment & uplift for all training specialists nationally
- Coach & review quality control of state based training specialists
- Participate in the selection process for any state based training specialists
- Provide input to performance reviews of state based training specialists
Qualifications, skills and and Experience required -
- A deep understanding of the finance broking industry along with a passion for technology platforms that enable broker business success
- A minimum of 5 years experience in delivering exceptional training
- Leadership experience and advantage but not essential
- Cert IV in Workplace training & assessment (or equivalent adult education qualifications) - and/ or attainment of this in the next 12 months
- Lean Six Sigma yellow belt highly desirable
- Solid understanding of brokers/ broker businesses and processes to be able to provide practical support
- Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills with proven ability to present in a clear and concise way at an individual and group level
- Critical thinker with innovative problem solving skills.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Demonstrated inclusive, collaborative and engaging approach; including the ability to consult, facilitate, negotiate and influence with a broad range of people at all levels in a medium sized corporate environment.
