One of Australia's most progressive Federal Government departments are looking to engage an experienced Linux Administrator to provide secure Linux services, Linux support, and related technology required to meet business needs. The successful Linux Administrator will secure an initial 12 month with the view to be extended for 2 years andwith a receive a rewarding daily rate.

The successfulLinux Administrator will be responsible for, but not limited to:

  • Drive innovation within Linux services in alignment with the department's enterprise roadmaps.
  • Deliver day-to-day delivery of Linux support services.
  • Manage workloads, priorities and progress of system changes for Linux systems.
  • Manage the workload, priorities and tasking of direct reports.

The successful Linux Administrator will have experience in the following:

  • Experience in the design, implementation and system administration of Linux operating systems and environments, ideally with Red Hat Satellite and Canonical Landscape.
  • Demonstrated experience in cloud technologies with a focus on template provisioning of complex virtual environments.
  • High level skills and experience in scripting in at least one of: Python, Bash, PowerShell
  • A strong understanding of relevant security frameworks
