What you will be doing

Reporting directly to Senior Manager, Design and Production, this role will be responsible for:

• Leading and developing a high-performing team by setting work objectives, managing workloads, training, and giving feedback.
• Undertaking customer and user research to inform design decisions, including by facilitating co-design workshops and creating journey maps.
• Overseeing complex design projects, from conceiving concept proposals through to delivery and implementation.
• Managing the creation of high-fidelity wireframes and screens, UI kits, and design specifications.
• Supporting the evaluation and reporting on the effectiveness of design solutions.

What you will bring to the role

• Demonstrated people management and creative leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and get the best out of staff.
• Strong research and analytical skills, experience in discovering complex problems and developing effective recommendations.
• Advanced computing skills including experience with Adobe Creative Cloud (including InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator) and prototyping and collaboration tools (such as Figma and Miro).
• Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate research and negotiate with both expert and non-expert senior stakeholders.
• Commitment to the VEC's core values.
