Senior Ladies Designer - Rusty

Rusty is an alternative surf lifestyle brand, proudly based in Perth, Western Australia. A leading manufacturer and distributor of high-quality surfing products, fashion garments and accessories, Rusty has become a major global player in the surf lifestyle industry.

We are currently looking for a Senior Ladies Designer to join the team. In this role you will be designing and developing the Ladies Garment ranges to meet the set creative brief and line plans. You must meet the highest quality design standards and ensure on time, quality ranges are delivered. This role requires you to use your design skills and flexibility to work with the rest of the design, sales and marketing teams to build cohesive ranges, across multiple categories, aimed at our target market.

To be successful in this role, you will possess the following:

  • A degree / diploma in Fashion Design
  • Minimum 3-5 years' experience in fashion design, preferably in ladies' apparel or surf/streetwear
  • Ability to be flexible and design various product categories
  • Highly creative and innovative design skills
  • Regularly conduct market research to always be on trend
  • Excellent attention to detail, organisation & communication skills
  • A flexible approach with the ability to work under pressure and to strict deadlines
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Illustrator and Photoshop
  • Strong garment construction & fabrication knowledge
  • Ability to work harmoniously within a team environment, where you respect the views and opinions of others.
  • An understanding of and passion for the surf, fashion and streetwear industries
