We're looking for a driven and innovative leader to join us as our UCAT Question Writing Team Leader. In this role, you'll guide a talented team of question writers to create world-class UCAT practice questions that directly shape the preparation of thousands of aspiring medical and dental students.

This isn't just about managing content—it's about setting the gold standard for realism, accuracy, and genuine value in UCAT preparation. You'll oversee question quality, coach and mentor question writers, and integrate cutting-edge AI tools to streamline workflows and push the boundaries of what preparation resources can achieve.

Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership & Mentorship

• Managing, mentoring, and supporting a team of UCAT Question Writers, ensuring consistency and excellence in content creation
• Facilitating regular one-on-ones, performance reviews, and engaging team meetings to provide feedback, monitor progress, and encourage professional development
• Identifying and maximizing the strengths of all team members by enabling specialization into key areas of resource creation
• Setting clear expectations, goals, and KPIs to drive team performance and accountability
• Leading onboarding and training for new question writers, fostering a strong understanding of UCAT standards and Contour's content philosophy
• Fostering a strong culture of camaraderie, collaboration, and excellence so that the team enjoys efficiently working together to tackle challenges and continuously improve

AI Integration & Productivity Enhancement

• Building, managing, and optimizing AI agents specifically designed for UCAT question creation and review processes
• Developing and refining AI prompts and workflows to significantly enhance team productivity
• Training team members on effective AI utilisation and establishing best practices for human-AI collaboration
• Continuously evaluating and implementing new AI tools and technologies to maintain competitive advantage in question development
• Managing the balance between AI-assisted content creation and human oversight to ensure quality standards

Content Oversight & Quality Control

• Reviewing, approving, and refining questions and explanations to ensure alignment with exam realism, cognitive challenge, and educational value
• Ensuring question creation matches the requirements of Contour's UCAT question bank with appropriate distribution across subtests, difficulties, and skills
• Implementing quality control systems and ensuring that all submissions meet Contour's standards for clarity, difficulty, and skill coverage
• Connecting with other teams such as UCAT tutors for regular content quality testing and evaluation

Continuous Improvement & Question Bank Development

• Developing and refining templates, writing guides, AI prompts, and internal processes to improve team efficiency and output quality
• Identifying gaps in question types, difficulty calibration, or coverage within the question bank, then coordinating development of required content
• Promoting a culture of peer feedback, shared learning, and ongoing professional development within the team
• Strategic planning for question bank expansion and enhancement to maintain market leadership

Mission Alignment

As the UCAT Question Writer Team Leader, you are at the heart of Contour MedPrep's mission to reshape medical preparation, one student at a time. Work Hours and Compensation

• Work Hours: Part-time position, 10 hours per week
• Hourly Rate: AUD $45-60/Hour + Super (based on tutoring experience)

• Minimum 6 Months UCAT Tutoring Experience: $60/Hour + Super
